María Arce is the Editorial Coach for Latin America at Global Press, where she leads learning and professional development for our diverse team of reporters in the region. Previously, she spent an academic year as Knight Wallace Fellow 2022-2023 at the University of Michigan. Prior to it, she was the Digital Multiplatform Director of El Vocero in Puerto Rico, where she also worked as Deputy Digital Director of GFR Media, and led the digital news coverage of Hurricane María. Born in Argentina, she worked as the editorial coordinator for Clarin newspaper in Buenos Aires. She has also served as a correspondent for EFE News Agency, Press TV, TVE, and Galician TV, among other media outlets. She has won several international journalism awards. She is based in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
